ScamShield collects and stores the following data necessary for its operation:

• Discord User IDs — to track warnings, detections, and user-specific settings.
• Discord Guild (Server) IDs — to store per-server configuration and detection logs.
• Message Content — messages flagged by the detection system are temporarily processed and stored as detection records. Message content is used solely for scam analysis and may be retained in detection logs.
• Discord OAuth2 Data — when you log in to the dashboard, we temporarily access your Discord identity (username, avatar, guild list) to authenticate you and display your servers. No tokens or credentials are stored permanently.

2. How We Use Your Data

The data we collect is used exclusively to:

• Detect and prevent scam messages across Discord servers.
• Provide server configuration through the web dashboard.
• Log detection events and warnings for moderation purposes.
• Display public statistics (aggregated, non-identifying).

3. Data Storage & Retention

Data is stored securely in a local database. Detection logs and warnings are retained indefinitely to maintain an accurate moderation history. You may request deletion of your data by contacting the support server.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third parties. Detection data is shared between linked Discord servers (servers that share the same scammer detection feed) solely for the purpose of cross-server scammer detection.

5. Image Processing

ScamShield may download and process images attached to messages for scam analysis. Images are processed in memory and are not permanently stored beyond what is necessary for detection logging.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Opt out by removing the bot from your server.
